Do Nigerian Artists Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid Use Songwriters?

Logos Olori, a Nigerian artist, mentioned in an interview that successful musicians like Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid use songwriters due to their busy schedules. Olori shared that it’s common practice in the music industry for artists to collaborate with songwriters. He also stressed that there is no shame in seeking help with songwriting.

However, Burna Boy responded to this claim by stating on Twitter that he does not utilize songwriters. He clarified that any names credited on his songs are either the producers or featured artists, not writers. Burna Boy expressed that in the Western music industry, producers often get credited as writers for contributing to the instrumentals. He firmly stated that nobody else can write songs for him, asserting his unique style. Many fans interpreted this tweet as a direct response to Logos Olori’s remarks, with some questioning the inclusion of Wizkid in the discussion. Some individuals have refuted Burna Boy’s assertion, alleging that he does, in fact, collaborate with songwriters.
