Manu Chao Announces Viva Tu, First New Album In 17 Years

After a lengthy hiatus, Manu Chao, the renowned French-born singer-songwriter based in Spain, is making a comeback after 17 years with his upcoming album titled “Viva Tu.” Known for his diverse musical influences and global activism through music, Chao last released an album in 2007, following the success of his solo debut Clandestino.

The title track “Viva Tu” from the new album was released last month, showcasing Chao’s signature style of singing in various languages and collaborating with artists across different genres. The album will feature collaborations with Willie Nelson and French singer Laeti, along with the recent release of another track named “São Paulo Motoboy.”

Chao pays tribute to motorcycle couriers in São Paulo with his latest single, describing them as vital to the city’s rhythm and vitality. The accompanying music video provides a glimpse into the challenging lives of these delivery workers. In addition to the singles, the album’s tracklist and Chao’s upcoming tour dates have been unveiled.
